Janev on bomb threats in schools: The security situation is stable, we have clues as to where the threats are coming from

The Director of the Public Security Bureau, Aleksandar Janev, spoke today from Tetovo regarding the alarms of bombs being planted in schools. Janev said that the security situation is stable and asked citizens to remain calm.

He said that authorities have clues as to where these alarms are coming from, but said he would not provide detailed information, reports Telegraph Macedonia.

"The security situation is stable, there is no need to panic, all citizens, parents and students should be calm. These are false alarms. We are investigating the purpose of these alarms, together with Interpol and Europol."

"We have some clues, we also communicate with our colleagues from Croatia and Hungary, which a few days ago also had similar cases. Police authorities have carried out checks where necessary. We have protocols on how to act in these cases. We are ready to respond to all challenges and will be close to citizens. There have been threats and there will be," said Janev.

Otherwise, this morning, threats of explosive devices being placed in schools in several cities in the country were sent to email addresses, causing panic among students, who were evacuated from school buildings. /Telegraph/
