Jamie Vardy was seen punching himself in the face after missing a good scoring chance against Watford

Jamie Vardy found the net twice in Leicester City's win over Watford in the Championship but what caught the eye was his reaction when he missed a golden scoring opportunity.

The former England striker has stayed with the Foxes even though they were relegated from the Premier League last season and is part of a Leicester side who are looking in good form in the Championship and could secure a return to the top flight next season.

Vardy has spent more than a decade at the King Power Stadium and has scored more than 170 goals during that time, in the Premier League and Championship.

He was on the scoresheet in Leicester's 2-0 win yesterday with the veteran scoring twice after not scoring since October. The 36-year-old came on from the bench and scored twice before the end of the match, including a penalty in extra time.

Despite scoring twice Vardy missed a golden scoring opportunity from close to the area which prompted his reaction.

Vardy lay on the pitch with both hands on his head, before punching himself in the face in an attempt to reflect on the missed opportunity./Telegraph/
