Believed to be 124-year-old, Filipino woman claimed to be world's oldest person dies

The woman who was believed to be the world's oldest person, and also the last living person born in the 19th century, has died aged 124 in the Philippines.

Francisca Susano, known as Lola, passed away on Monday at her home in Kabankalan in the province of Negros Occidental, Telegraph reports.

Officials from the Guinness Book of Records are analyzing the data to confirm the authenticity of the birth certificate to announce the oldest person in the world.


The cause of death has also not been ascertained, but Susano did not have any symptoms of COVID-19 or any other illness. /Telegraph/
