iPhone Mini headed for 'failure' - Apple is planning something else instead

Apple may discontinue the iPhone mini due to poor sales. A new model may be offered instead.
The screens of most mobile phones are too big, users would like smaller devices that fit better in their pockets. But sales figures for the iPhone Mini paint a different picture.
Last year, there was repeated speculation that the iPhone Mini was on the verge of 'disappearance.' Sales figures are simply too low.
The sales figures of the iPhone Mini from China have already been published.
It shows that the iPhone 13 Mini accounts for only 5 percent of all iPhone sales. iPhone 13 Pro accounts for 21 percent and iPhone 13 Pro Max 23 percent. The largest share in iPhone sales goes to the iPhone 13 at 51 percent.
Given the weak demand for the iPhone Mini, there are now rumors of the end of the smaller iPhone. According to this, there should not be another iPhone 14 Mini in the 2022 lineup, as some leakers have suggested.
A larger model is replacing the iPhone with a screen diagonal of only 5.4 inches. So there could be an iPhone 14 Max instead. So, a slimmer model than the Pro, with a screen diagonal that is similar to the Pro Max model and is said to be around 6.7 inches.
Such a prediction has already been made by Apple's trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in the past. Until now, if you wanted a big screen, you had to go for the expensive Pro Max model. With an iPhone 14 Max, iPhone users can get a bigger screen at a lower price.
For those who prefer a smaller screen, Apple will still offer the iPhone SE. The 2020 iPhone SE model has a screen diagonal of only 4.7 inches. A similar screen diagonal is expected for the 2022 model. /Telegraph/
