According to a report from Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, Real Madrid have made contact with Florian Wirtz's camp as they progress to sign the talented midfielder.
The reigning Champions League holders are hoping to recruit the talented striker to their already-formulating super-squad.
Wirtz was an essential part of the Bayern Leverkusen side that won the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal last season without losing. He played 3475 minutes in 49 games, scoring 18 goals and assisting 20.
Wirtz is contracted to the Bundesliga side until 2027 and Los Blancos will be hoping to secure a deal for his services.
Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also monitoring his situation. Reports suggest the reigning German champions would prefer to do a deal with Real Madrid to prevent the midfielder from signing for local rivals Bayern Munich.
Wirtz has continued his fantastic form for his club this season, scoring seven goals and one assist in 967 minutes or 14 games. /Telegraph/
