German journalist Michael Martens conducted an interview with Prime Minister Albin Kurti for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, after reaching the Kosovo-Serbia agreement on the issue of license plates.

Martens has published some short parts of the interview on Twitter (which will soon be published in FAZ) while emphasizing that Kosovo will officially apply for membership in the European Union in December.

Referring to the German journalist, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that he had agreed to a compromise on the "number plate crisis" after he was warned by the American ambassador in Pristina that the situation in the north of Kosovo "could deteriorate severely and irreversibly".

"The American ambassador 'had more information than me' about the situation in the north", Kurti is quoted as saying, mentioning his concerns about the security issue, but without going into details, reports the Telegraph.

In this interview, Kurti also spoke about the criticism of EU External Representative Josep Borrell as unconstructive, while he said "I am not stubborn, I am principled".

Martens announced that he also spoke with Kurt about the role of Josep Borrell and Miroslav Lajçak as European mediators and about the essence of the Franco-German Proposal.

The German journalist announces that in the interview that will soon be published in the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, there will also be talk about the rights of Albanians in the Presheva Valley, the issue of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority, the issue of visa liberalization, the issue of membership in Council of Europe, etc.
