How to keep your house free of flies during the summer, without chemicals but with a natural ingredient

As the weather warms, flies begin to emerge from their winter state, seeking warmth, food, and suitable places to lay eggs.

Unfortunately, your home is often an ideal haven for these insects, which is not only a nuisance, but also a health hazard, as flies can spread germs, bacteria, and about 65 different diseases.

As summer approaches, the presence of flies becomes increasingly noticeable.

Glen Peskett, a DIY expert from Saxton Blades, has recommended a surprisingly simple solution that doesn't involve the use of harsh chemicals. He said:

"When it comes to keeping flies out of the house, many people use chemical products, but a simple and natural solution can be very effective."

The solution is cheap, effective, and completely natural – and you likely already have it in your fridge: cucumbers.

"Cucumber slices are a surprising way to keep flies away. They can't stand the smell of cucumber, especially when it's more bitter, so this is a great natural deterrent."

How to use this natural method: Place cucumber slices in different areas of the house, focusing on places where flies hang out most often, such as windows, entrances to the house, and near garbage cans.

Change the pieces every few days to maintain their repellent power. Although it may seem a bit more tedious as a process, it is a very economical and chemical-free way to make your home less attractive to flies. /Telegraph/
