Real Madrid 'hated' referee Hernandez admitted to being a Barcelona fan as a youngster

It is true that most top level referees had a favorite team when they were children.
Real Madrid accused referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez was a Barcelona supporter as a young man.
In an interview published in June 1994, he was a young referee of just 11 when he declared his connection to Barcelona, citing his admiration for Romario and Michael Laudrup, two stars of the Catalan club at the time.
"La Voz de Lanzarote" published the interview in 1994, with Hernandez Hernandez dreaming of refereeing the Spanish team.
Now, 26 years later, the interview has resurfaced in the wake of Sunday's 1-1 derby draw in Madrid, with Hernandez Hernandez taking charge and not awarding a penalty for a handball in the area on Felipe, even after looking on monitor.
"We haven't had any luck with Hernandez Hernandez ... again," Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno declared after the match.
This isn't the first time Real Madrid have been frustrated with the referee and now they have a list of 10 times they believe Hernandez Hernandez got it wrong. /Telegraph/
