Napoli have submitted an official offer for Liverpool's Federico Chiesa, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy.
However, Liverpool are reportedly demanding a mandatory buyout clause, creating a potential stumbling block in negotiations.
Chiesa, who has struggled to find his form since joining Liverpool in the summer, has been linked with a move away from Anfield.
Despite a relatively low transfer fee of around €15m, the Italian striker has failed to impress, earning only a Premier League winners' medal after a recent performance against Chelsea.
According to reports, Chiesa is enthusiastic about returning to Italy and is confident that the deal is going well.
Napoli's loan-with-option-to-buy proposal may not match Liverpool's demands, but both sides appear eager to reach an agreement.Telegraph/
