Gerard Pique enjoys evenings with his new girlfriend, shortly after reaching a custody agreement with Shakira

Gerard Pique made a cozy appearance with new girlfriend Clara Chia on Wednesday as they enjoyed a romantic dinner at a Japanese restaurant in his native Spain.

The footballer, 35, was seen holding hands with the 23-year-old student as they stood and chatted outside the restaurant after their meal. Dailymail.

Gerard's outing with his new love comes after he and ex Shakira reached a custody agreement over their sons following their split earlier this year.

The couple looked in good spirits as they stood together on the street, with the sportsman seen clutching her white handbag.

Gerard wore a simple white T-shirt with dark jeans and black and white sneakers.

Clara, meanwhile, was wearing a baggy black suit and white sandals.

The couple's date night comes shortly after it was revealed that Gerard and Shakira had reached a custody agreement for sons Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven, following their split earlier this year, with the singer planning to move to Miami in the year 2023.

They released a statement on Tuesday after a marathon 12-hour meeting with their lawyers, which ended in the early hours.

While Gerard, who emotionally retired from football at the weekend, is said to have given his blessing for his ex-partner to move to Miami in the New Year with their two sons to avoid a lengthy legal battle.

Shakira's desire to move to the city where she and part of her family have lived is understood to have been a major stumbling block in the couple's previous failure to reach an out-of-court settlement.

Pique and Shakira said in their joint statement: "We wish to communicate that we have signed an agreement that guarantees the well-being of our children and that will be ratified in court as part of a purely formal procedure."

"Our only objective is to provide them with maximum safety and protection, and we trust that their privacy will be respected."

Their statement continued: "We appreciate the interest shown and hope that the children can continue their lives with the necessary privacy in a safe and peaceful environment."

The Spanish press has also reported that Gerard will be able to spend ten days a month with his children as part of his custody agreement with Shakira, as well as holidays.

The now-former couple announced their split after a dozen years together in June, although it appeared Shakira didn't want the relationship to end at the time.

Pique is already in a new relationship with 23-year-old student Clara Chia Marti, who studies public relations.

Since the split, Pique has been seen kissing his new love passionately as they make no secret of their new relationship.

Speaking about the split in September, Shakira admitted it had been an 'incredibly difficult' time for her and the family.

Meanwhile, Gerard and Shakira have reportedly agreed to sell their exclusive residence in Barcelona where they raised their two sons.

The couple, who reached a custody agreement that will see the Colombian singer move to Miami with their sons, are expected to place a price of between £10.5m and £12m on the property when it goes on the market. /Telegraph/
