LSM announced a blockade of the Assembly for tomorrow to increase the minimum wage to 600 euros and a linear increase in all salaries. The deputies will have to go through the blockades.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Afrim Gashi, stated in a press conference with journalists that he expects the protest to pass peacefully, reports "DW" in Macedonian.

He said that the deputies have been notified to come to work and that the protest will not impede their right to participate in the session.

Regarding a possible blockade of entrances to the Assembly, Gashi said: "There will be no special security at the Assembly. The Ministry of Interior has regular security protocols. So, we will work, they will protest."

Gashi believes that the problem cannot be solved by increasing salaries alone.

"The entire economic panorama must be taken into account. I think we should level salaries according to priority, determine which functions are the most important in the country. From there, let's start with the President of the country, the Assembly, the Prime Minister, the deputy, the director, teachers, doctors... and have a fairer leveling of salaries. I think this would be the fairest way to solve this problem," said Gashi./Telegraph/
