The National Library of Kosovo is considered one of the most unique objects not only in the country - magical for every visitor and a symbol of our cultural identity.

It all started on August 12, 1974, when the foundations of a dream were laid.

Eight years of continuous work, 42 companies involved, hundreds of hands working day and night — to build this monumental object.

Like any great architectural creation, this building has gone through both praise and criticism.

But one thing was essential: the renowned architect Bashkim Fehmiu had only one request for architect Andrija Mutnjakovic: "Not to skimp on the material to be used."

This is what Blerina Rogova Gaxha, director of the Library, said.

All materials, except for the domes, are from Kosovo, while the works were carried out by the well-known companies "Ramiz Sadiku" and "Tefik Çanga".

Today, the Library preserves nearly 2 million books — two million stories, two million lives, and millions of souls who have read and left their mark.

Among them, there is also a book about Skanderbeg, which dates back to the 1500s and is carefully preserved within the vault of this facility.

Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjaković was inspired by the Albanian heritage of the Middle Ages, by ornaments, geometry, stone and traditional structures.

This inspiration transformed the Library into a unique symbol of Albanian architectural identity.

Are the domes Albanian?

Did you know that not only the US president has an Oval Office?

A room that is rarely shown to the public and many other answers, in Milot Hasimja's report, in Krejt Kapak me Milotin, in Klan Kosova.
