From Pristina to Kaçanik, how did women rank in the race for mayor?

The local elections of October 12 included 10 women running for mayor (not including Serb-majority municipalities) in cities such as Pristina, Peja, Prizren, Ferizaj, Vushtrri, Deçan, Kamenica, Fushë Kosova, Drenas and Kaçanik, reflecting efforts for gender inclusion at the local level.
This fact highlights a goal to increase gender representation at the local level, while the elections present a new area of challenges and opportunities for women leaders in Kosovo.

From the preliminary results published by the CEC, PSD candidate for Pristina, Besa Shahini It ranked fifth with 1,55% or 1,591 votes.

PDK candidate for Peja, Arta Nallbani ranked fourth with 4,86% or 2,005 votes out of a total of 41,283 citizens who exercised their right to vote.

Natyra Kuçi, PSD candidate for Deçan it was ranked third according to preliminary results from the CEC, where it received 11,73% or 1,789 votes.

In Prizren, Emilja Rexhepi from the New Democratic Party received 3,63% or 2,102 votes, ranking sixth among the other candidates.

NISMA candidate in Vushtrri, Xhevahire Izmaku It ranked fourth with 2,40% or 712 votes according to the CEC results.

In Ferizaj AAK candidate for mayor in this municipality, Xhemile Murati Shabani ranked fourth with only 1,70% or 835 votes.

Jona Arifi, PDK candidate For mayor of Kamenica, she also received few votes, like other female candidates in other municipalities. Arifi was ranked fifth with 4,69% or 685 votes.

Vildane Latifi from AAK in Fushë Kosovë it ranked fourth with only 1,18% or 250 votes.

LVV candidate in Drenas, Egzona Tërdevci ranked third with 4,01% or 1,008 votes.

Candidate for President of Kaçanik from the ranks of AAK, Hafize Sallahi is ranked sixth in this municipality according to the preliminary results of the CEC. It received 1,37% or 220 votes.
According to these results, based on the number of voters who were in these municipalities, the most voted female candidate is Arta Nallbani of PDK in Peja. /Telegraph/
