Former member of Real Madrid, Edwin Congo is arrested for drug smuggling

Former Real Madrid striker Edwin Congo was arrested yesterday (May 12th) by Spanish police as part of their investigation into a cocaine smuggling ring.ESPN reported that the Colombian, who was signed from Once Caldas in 1999 but never made a senior appearance for Los Blancos, was arrested - but then released later that day.
Ten other people have been arrested as part of the operation in the capital of Spain, but the 43-year-old was questioned by the police against drug trafficking.
On the other hand, his career ended in Madrid, he went on to have more successful form at Levante and Sporting Gijon.
He also made 17 appearances for the Colombian national team. He had even played in the meeting for the legends of Real Madrid.
