A foggy weekend could cause trouble with flights

During this weekend, there may be delays or postponements of flights in the morning hours at the International Airport of Pristina "Adem Jashar", due to the fog which is predicted by the Meteorological Department at the Air Navigation Services Agency (ASHNA).

"Tonight during the night there is expected to be fog which will continue until the next day in the morning hours, while the visibility will be mostly low, with improvement during the day. Also, fog is expected during the evening hours and during the night of Sunday, where it will last until the morning hours", said Fetah Krasniqi from this agency.

According to him, in the following days it is expected to be mostly cloudy weather, while at the end of the week there is expected to be light snowfall.

"Temperatures in the coming days are expected to be the maximum from 0°C to 2°C during the day and at night to reach the minimum from -7°C to -10°C", emphasized Fetah Krasniqi.

According to the data of the Meteorological Department at ASHNA, fog can cause problems in the normal development of flights, mainly in the morning hours on weekend days.

During 2016 alone, more than 20 thousand operations were carried out in the Air Navigation Services Agency (ASHNA). Therefore, taking into account such a large number of flights in a year, according to the official for media, Driton Ujkani, bad weather, such as fog, strong winds or even weather with heavy snowfall, present difficulties in carrying out operations at predetermined times.

"This is why flights are cancelled," he said. /KP/
