Since Khabib Nurmagomedov became one of the most popular artists in mixed arts, there have been many rumors and misinformation about his personal life, religion and family.
In this post, I would like to share with you some real facts about Khabib's wife, Patimat Nurmagomedova, based on the various interviews the athlete has given to Russian media.

1. We don't know what Ms. Nurmagomedov looks like.
Olga Buzova is not Khabib's wife
Photos of Khabib and his wife with a face covered from the wedding are the only real images of them. The rest of the pictures you may have seen online are either fake or taken with his fans or friends.
For example, this beautiful lady in the photo above is not Nurmagomedov's wife. Her name is Olga Buzova and she is a popular Russian artist and TV presenter. They took this photo of the Dagestani at one of the public events in Russia.
A face of Khabib's wife was never shown to the public and is strictly protected. Khabib himself never talks or posts pictures of his wife or children on social media or anywhere else.
Patimat Nurmagomedova lives with Khabib in Dagestan and spends full time raising children at home.
2. Khabib and his wife got married in 2013 in Dagestan.

They got married in the village of Kirovaul near Makhachkala where Nurmagomedov lives.
It was a big wedding that was celebrated by the whole village; according to Khabib's father, almost 4000 people came to the wedding throughout the day. The wedding venue had a capacity of 1200 people and they had to switch guests three times to get everyone inside. The cost of such a large wedding was only about 700,000 rubles (a little more than 10 thousand dollars) and half of it was paid by family friends.
3. Khabib and his wife have three children together.

In 2019, Khabib had two children - a daughter (who was born in 2015) and a son (who was born in December 2017). On August 31, 2019, it was announced that Nurmagomedov is becoming a father for the third time.
4. Khabib's wife is his distant relative.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib's father, in one of the interviews for the Russian newspaper 'Sport-Express', mentioned that Khabib's wife is his distant relative and she actually had the last name Nurmagomedova even before she married Khabib.
A village where Khabib and Patimat grow up (Sildi village) is very small and almost everyone else there is related to each other by blood.
5. Khabib may have more than one wife in the future.
Muslim traditions allow men to have up to four wives. 'The Eagle' has one wife at the moment, but according to Khabib's late father, Abdulmanap, all the men in their family take on another wife when they are in their 50s or 60s. Khabib's grandfather had two wives, Khabib's father also had two wives.
