Do you want healthy skin during winter? Eat five foods to make your face glow

A doctor has recommended that five foods in your diet could be the secret to youthful skin with a glow to covet, even during the harsh winter months.

While we deal with the effects of dryness, it's more important than ever to nourish our skin from the inside out.

Aesthetic doctor Keyana Emamian has emphasized the importance of a diet rich in nutrients to fight the winter cold on our skin.

“A nutrient-dense diet can make all the difference during the winter. There are some powerhouse foods that can protect your skin from dryness, boost hydration and promote a radiant glow, even in the colder months."

At the top of the list of foods she recommends is avocado. She says avocados are rich in unsaturated fats that help hydrate and maintain skin elasticity.

"Avocados are also a fantastic source of vitamin E."

Berries come second on her list of recommendations, thanks to their high antioxidant content. Blueberries, strawberries and raspberries are not only delicious, but also very good for the skin.

"Berries are packed with vitamin C, which is essential for collagen production," Emamian explained.

"Collagen is the protein responsible for keeping your skin firm and youthful, and regular consumption of berries can reduce the appearance of fine lines and sagging."

Emamian also points out that they have anti-inflammatory properties, perfect for soothing winter skin problems.

On social networks, they have been described as a skin care miracle.

During these cold months, to combat dry and cracked skin, Emamian recommends fatty fish for its omega-3 content.

“Omega-3 strengthens the skin barrier, sealing in moisture and reducing inflammation. They are especially useful for combating winter dryness and chapped skin," says the medical expert.

She suggests eating fatty fish like salmon or mackerel twice a week for best results.

Emamian also encourages the consumption of green vegetables such as kale and spinach for skin health.
