The Football Federation of Serbia has received punishment from UEFA for the violations committed in the October 12 match against Switzerland, where they faced each other in the third round of the League of Nations.
During this meeting, the Serbian fans in the choir sang nationalist and anti-Kosovo songs, in which case this act has forced UEFA to impose a penalty of 25 thousand euros on them, to play the next match with partial closure of tribune as well as 4000 conditional seats for two years.
After this punishment, FFK reacted, which welcomed UEFA's decision to punish racist behavior.
The reaction of the FFK
The Football Federation of Kosovo welcomes the decision taken by UEFA to punish the Football Federation of Serbia for anti-Kosovo chants and racist behavior during the 12 October match between Serbia and Switzerland. This strict measure is an important step towards the protection of sports principles and respect in the international arena.
On behalf of Kosovar sports fans, FFK emphasizes that a sports environment must be free from provocative messages, hatred and discrimination. Our legal office has taken immediate steps to report these violations to UEFA, and we will continue to pursue all legal means to address any unsportsmanlike and harmful actions that harm Kosovo and the values of sport.
FFK remains committed to protecting players, fans and the football community from acts of hatred and provocations aimed at undermining the spirit of fair play. The federation will continue to monitor and react against all violations of norms and values in football, both on and off the field.
UEFA's decision against Serbia is a clear message that such reprehensible acts have no place in sport, and FFK remains steadfast in its commitment to contribute to clean, fair and respectful football for all .
