Extraordinary final, Denmark European champion

Denmark has proven once again that it is the best national handball team, being crowned European champion.
In the extraordinary final in Herning, the Danes defeated Germany with a score of 34:27.
It is Denmark's third European title. They won the first in 2008 and the second in 2012. In the previous European Championship, in 2024, they were defeated in the final.

Simon Pytlick was Denmark's top scorer with eight goals. Mathias Gidsel and Johan Hansen each scored seven. Kevin Moller made eight saves, and Emil Nielsen made seven.
For Germany, Johannes Golla, Juri Knorr and Marko Grgic scored five goals each. Goalkeeper Andreas Wolff was exceptional with 14 saves.
Denmark now has two Olympic titles, four world titles and three European titles.

Germany returned to the European Championship final after 10 years. They have two continental titles, the last in 2016.
The bronze medal went to Croatia, which won 34:33 against Iceland for third place. /Telegraph/
