The explosion of one of the biggest failures of all time – he is having a great season

Ousmane Dembele's transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona is considered one of the biggest failures in football history.
In 2017, the Catalans paid 135 million euros for the then 20-year-old French striker, which is the third-biggest transfer of all time.
Although he had seemingly good statistics at Barcelona of 40 goals and 43 assists in 185 appearances, he failed to find the consistency and become one of the main pillars of the team, which was expected of him. During his six seasons at Barça, he had many problems with injuries and maintaining his fitness.
Therefore, Barcelona sold him to Paris Saint-Germain for €50 million in the summer of 2023, and his first season there was also disappointing. He scored just six goals in 42 games.
But Dembele has been in fine form this season and especially this calendar year. On Friday, he scored twice against Monaco in a 4-1 win in the 21st round of Ligue 1, which is now his 13th goal in seven games in 2025.
Dembele has scored in each of those seven, and last week he also had two hat-tricks – against Brest in the league and Stuttgart in the Champions League.

In total, 27-year-old Dembele has scored 21 goals and provided five assists in 27 games this season and according to some sources he has six assists, meaning he is involved in an average of one goal per game.
In the arms of such a Dembele, PSG is attacking the French championship, in which it has not yet suffered a single defeat. /Telegraph/
