Although 78 years old, Tom Jones will return to concerts this year

Sir Tom Jones will perform at the Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana this year. The legendary singer and his band will perform on May 2 to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of this jazz festival.   

"I am very honored to perform at the world famous jazz festival in New Orleans in May this year!", wrote the 78-year-old on Instagram.

His fans are amazed by this news and some of them have said that they will visit the festival to see their idol up close.

Later this year, Jones will also perform in Tel Aviv, Israel (on July 3), where he has performed several times in the past, including in 2013 and 2017. He will then continue the tour in Denmark, the United States United States of America, Austria and Germany.

The news of his return to the stage has come as a surprise, given that in 2018, the veteran singer was forced to cancel a series of concerts due to a bacterial infection.

He was even hospitalized, while in August he returned to the stage, but there have been reports of other health problems of Jones.

"I was on the road and when we got to London I was feeling sluggish. I didn't feel well and I said to myself: 'You better get checked, blood and all.'

"They told me I had to use antibiotics. So they gave me an IV and that was it. If it had happened in another period, no one would have found out. He will rest for a few days and that's it. But I had to cancel concerts. That's why it became big", said the singer for The Mirror. /Telegraph/
