Popular rapper Eminem will open this week's MTV Video Music Awards for the first televised performance of songs from his new album, The Death of Slim Shady.
The winner of multiple Grammy awards last opened the ceremony in 2010, when he performed the song "Not Afraid" and the duet "Love the Way You Lie" with pop star Rihanna.
His most recent performance at this ceremony was in 2022, when a company with NFT introduced his and Snoop Dogg's avatar through metaverse technology.
Eminem is nominated for eight awards this year, including video of the year, song of the summer, best hip-hop project, and the VMAs' most iconic performance of the mashup of "Real Slim Shady" and "The Way." I Am".
Only a win would secure his status as the most decorated male artist in VMAs history. /Telegraph/
