Eleven celebrities who helped with their wealth for different causes in the world throughout 2022

In the past year, celebrities from the worlds of fashion, acting, music and even combat sports all have one thing in common: they've used their time and money to spread some joy.
Some of their gestures have been small, such as distributing money to unemployed people, others have reached millions of euros, while others have been ready to help seriously ill people or children.
All, however, were important for the sense of community they encouraged.

Here's a look at celebrities who helped others throughout 2022:
Gigi Hadid

In March, the American model, who is of Dutch-Palestinian descent, pledged to donate her proceeds from Paris Fashion Week to help victims of the war in Ukraine as well as Palestine.
Working during the Fall/Winter 2022 shows that took place in Paris in February, Hadid took to social media to explain her frustration at being tied to the time frame they had agreed months earlier.
"Having a fixed fashion month schedule means that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history," she wrote.
Although this period was out of her hands, the model explained that she was able to contribute towards wider issues happening around the world.
“We have no control over most of our working hours, but we would like to walk 'for' something. I am pledging to donate my proceeds from the Fall 2022 shows to help the people in Ukraine, as well as continue to support those experiencing the same in Palestine."
John Cena

Wrestler-turned-actor John Cena is now officially the celebrity who has granted the most wishes for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, after making his 650th appearance in June for sick children. This means that he is the most generous star who has spent time with children in the hospital.
Founded in 1980, the "Make-a-Wish" Foundation helps sick children by granting what it describes as "magical wishes".
Through the foundation, children can seek to meet a sports personality, movie star or celebrity. A highly sought after figure, Cena has given up countless hours of his time to spend time with hundreds of sick children for no other reason than to bring them some joy.
Lizzo

In June, following the US Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade, singer Lizzo announced that she would make a donation to support reproductive rights.
A supporter of body positivity and the right of individuals to freedom from prejudice, the singer acted quickly, investing half a million euros to support the autonomy of women's bodies.
Just a few days after the historic decision, the "Juice" singer wrote on Twitter: "I'm pledging 500 euros from my next tour to Planned Parenthood."
She then said that this amount would be matched by Live Nation, the company producing her world tour, and together they would bring the total donation to an impressive one million euros.
Dave Chappelle

In June, comedian Dave Chappelle pulled out of a last-minute show in Buffalo, New York, just a month after a racially motivated mass shooting killed ten people and left three others injured.
During his performance at the Shea Performing Arts Center, he announced to the audience that he would donate ticket sales to the affected families.
Speaking about the decision, Kevin Sweeney, director of marketing and communications at the Shea Center for the Performing Arts, said: Entertainment Tonight that Chappelle had made the announcement on stage.
"He said, and I'm paraphrasing, 'I came here to Buffalo to know the victims and these families.'"
Among those in attendance at the 3019-seat venue were family members of the victims, who were personally invited by Chappelle.
Tom Brady

In September, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback made a donation to help those affected by Hurricane Ian.
It is recognized as the largest and most destructive Category 4 hurricane to hit Florida since 1935.
"Glad to be able to go home Sunday night, but a lot of people in Florida won't be able to do the same," Brady tweeted.
In addition to his gesture, he hoped the National Football League and other players would also get involved, writing, "I'm going to make a donation to Florida and hope the rest of the NFL follows suit."
Dick Van Dyke

The actor, 97, proved that kindness has no age limit when in October he handed out five-dollar bills to those at the Malibu Community Labor Exchange, a nonprofit organization that helps people find work.
The actor gave out money to remind that even small amounts can make a difference in someone's day.
Speaking of Entertainment Tonight, the artist joked that as much as he loves helping others, he "can't do it all the time."
Hakim Ziyech

Moroccan footballer Hakim Ziyech, who helped his country to a historic semi-final appearance at the World Cup in Qatar, has donated all of his earnings.
As the first African nation to reach the final four, Ziyech, 29, earned a €260 bonus, which he then donated to charities across Morocco.
Signed to Chelsea, Ziyech earns six million euros a year and previously has a history of distributing his bonuses among team staff and those in need.
Across Morocco, he has already helped support many football clubs as well as donated money to hospitals.
Dwayne Johnson

To mark the holiday season, Johnson has helped spread a little cheer for an important part of the US.
Through an initiative of his company "Teremana", a mobile food supply bus called "Mana Mobile" has traveled across the country to provide free food and drinks to police, firefighters and doctors.
To date, it has given 22 people a meal with hopes of increasing that number before the year is out.
"We have already served 22 people and we aim to serve 10 more," the actor said in a post.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Blake Likely and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, were among the first to help the Ukrainian people after the Russian invasion in February.
They cooperated with the UN agency for Refugees in the USA, as they announced that they will donate one million euros.
"When you donate, we will match it up to one million euros creating double support," the couple declared.
Lively also praised UNHCR's work, explaining that it was on the ground "helping over 50 Ukrainians who had to leave their homes" and explained how the organization was "providing life-saving assistance and also working with countries neighbors to ensure protection for these families".
Mila Kunis

Another name that helped raise funds for Ukraine is actress Mila Kunis. She launched a fundraising campaign where she explained why it was so important to her to lend her support.
"Although my family came to the United States in 1991, I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983," she wrote. "Ukrainians are proud and brave people who deserve our help in their time of need. This unjust attack on Ukraine and the people in general is devastating and they need our support. Our family is starting this fund to help provide immediate support and we will provide up to three million euros."
With her husband, Ashton Kutcher, the couple tried to raise 30 million euros, however, the fund surpassed it by raising a total of 38 million euros.
Lil baby

Hip-hop star Lil Baby continues to help support the community where he grew up. For the past three years, the rapper has organized a Back to School party for the children of Atlanta, Georgia, as a day of fun for the youth.
Hailing from a poor area, the singer has made music, games and even carnival rides for local children to enjoy for free.
In addition, the event also provides basic items for struggling families, such as school supplies, backpacks and even haircuts for underprivileged children.
To date, more than three children have benefited from this event. This year's event is officially affiliated with Goodr, a non-profit organization that provides free meals to every child, family and senior in need of support. /Telegraph/
