Electric cars can be charged in just nine seconds with the new technology
The new technology will cut the time needed to charge electric cars to just nine seconds.
And even those who plug in at home will cut the time from 10 hours to three minutes, scientists say, Telegraph reports.
The new device uses the laws of quantum physics to power all the "cells" of a battery at the same time.
While electric cars were rarely seen on the road 10 years ago, millions are now sold each year and it has become one of the fastest growing industries.
But those switching from petrol to electricity still face a big problem – the "slow speed" of charging the battery.
Cars currently take about 10 hours to fully recharge at home, and even the fastest "superchargers" at stations take about 20 to 40 minutes. /Telegraph/
