Chief of Staff to the President of Kosovo, Learta Hollaj, stated that President Vjosa Osmani acted in accordance with constitutional obligations when issuing the relevant decree, emphasizing that its failure to issue would constitute a violation of the Constitution of Kosovo.

According to her, the president has implemented a constitutional obligation and not a personal desire.

"The President implemented what the Constitution requires. So, she fulfilled a constitutional obligation, not a desire. She would be violating the Constitution if she did not issue such a decree," Hollaj declared.

She has also reacted to criticisms made against the president, saying that accusations of "blindness of power", "monarchy" or "arbitrariness" are unacceptable.

Hollaj emphasized that President Osmani welcomes the sending of the decree to the Constitutional Court and that she will respect any decision that this court will make.

"The President herself has said that she welcomes the sending of this decree to the Constitutional Court and that she will respect any decision," she added.

Finally, Hollaj emphasized that in a republic, respect for the Constitution must be a fundamental principle of institutions.

"In a republic, zeal for the Constitution is a duty, not an ambition," she said.Telegrafi/
