Kosovo-Croatia Economic Forum, Kurti: Our doors are always open for new investments

During the official visit to Zagreb, after the bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, and after the signing of agreements between the two countries that increase and advance the level of cooperation, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti together with the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari participated in the Kosovo-Croatia Economic Forum.

Prime Minister Kurti, speaking at this forum, said that "this event symbolizes our intense commitment to strengthening economic relations and cooperation between our two countries".

Further, he addressed the development that the country has seen in the last four years and the advancement in many fields.

He emphasized the doubling of exports and foreign investments, the increase in business turnover in 2023 by almost 60% compared to 2019 (which is the first pre-pandemic year) and the advantages that Kosovo has for foreign investors.

Among other things, he mentioned the recent approval of the new Law on Foreign Investments, the process of creating the Agency for Investments and Exports, the strengthening of our legal framework for maximum business security in Kosovo, including the creation of the International Court of Arbitration, the development of strategies which include the exchange of experiences and innovations with other European countries such as Croatia, as well as the development of the energy, infrastructure and digitalization sectors, the communiqué states.

"Kosovo is an important market that is constantly developing and we believe that together with Croatia we will contribute to the creation of new values ​​and opportunities for our regional and global economy. As Government, we are committed to creating a business environment that is safe, stable and extremely competitive. Our doors are always open for new investments, while our goal is clear - to make Kosovo one of the most attractive markets in Southeast Europe. Kosovo is a market for companies, but at the same time our government will be your partner", said Prime Minister Kurti.

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari said that Kosovo is experiencing economic growth year after year, emphasizing the opportunities for expanding the industrial sector, improving the environment for doing business with favorable conditions and easing procedures, with sustainable investments. , direction in innovation and production, design and approval of the first strategy for Industrial Development and Business Support 2030, promoting employment and increasing the qualification of the workforce.

"It expresses the readiness to initiate new agreements for economic cooperation, to further strengthen our ties both for business and other economic fields, to create the joint economic committee between the two countries and to initiate the creation of commissions for signed the joint investment treaty", said Minister Hajdari.
