Double murder in Vushtrri, victim's family: Cause of murder, jealousy because he went to work in another country

A tragic event occurred on Monday in the village of Stanoc, Vushtrri, where a woman was murdered and the suspected perpetrator committed suicide.

From the scene, the victim's family member, Rrahim Ajeti, provided details about the case.

According to him, it is suspected that the murder occurred because the victim had changed jobs and was no longer working at the store.

"There was no family connection. She was an exemplary woman. The victim and her husband worked at the suspect's business years ago. They are not husband and wife."

"We do not yet know the circumstances of how the murder occurred. But it is suspected that the main cause is jealousy over why he went to another job and left her with me," Ajeti declared to reporters.

The Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Mitrovica region, Avni Zahiti, provided details of the case to Telegrafi.

"Today, at around 14:56, the police received information about a murder that occurred in the village of Stanovc, Vushtrri. Based on the initial investigations from the scene, it is suspected that the perpetrator, a 58-year-old man with the initials AM, shot and killed the female victim, a 42-year-old woman with the initials NH, and then the suspect shot himself."

"A pistol was found and confiscated as material evidence at the scene. By order of the Prosecutor, the two bodies are being sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsy. Police investigators under the leadership of the prosecutor are continuing the investigation into the criminal offenses of 'Aggravated Murder' and 'Suicide,'" said Zahiti.

The Telegraph has seen photos of the murder, which show that the act took place inside the underpass.

This is the second case that has shaken Vushtrri within 24 hours, after just a day ago a 19-year-old was killed under other circumstances. /Telegraph/
