The Kosovo Police also reported several cases of domestic violence at the beginning of this year, where men attacked women, a daughter exercised psychological violence against her mother, a brother exercised physical violence against his brother, threats and other cases.
The cases occurred in Gracanica, Lipjan, Rahovec, Malisheva, Gjakova and Mitrovica.
Cases of violencereported to the Police:
Grachanica 02.01.2026 – 03:30. The male suspect with German citizenship has been arrested, after he attacked his wife, the female victim with German citizenship, under the influence of alcohol. The victim has received medical treatment. By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect has been taken into custody until he sobers up.
Lipjan 02.01.2026 - 11:00. A Kosovar female suspect has been arrested after she allegedly inflicted psychological violence on her mother. The suspect has been taken into custody by the prosecutor's decision.
Lipjan 02.01.2026 – 11:45. A male Kosovar suspect has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted his brother. The suspect has been taken into custody by the prosecutor's decision.
Rahovec 02.01.2026 – 01:07. Two Kosovar male suspects (father and son) have been arrested after they got into a physical fight with each other while under the influence of alcohol. The suspects have been taken into custody by decision of the prosecutor.
Malishevo 02.01.2026 – 16:30. It was reported that the Kosovar female victim was threatened over the phone by her Kosovar male fiancé. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody by decision of the prosecutor.
Gjakova 01.01.2026 – 22:00. On 02.01.2026, the Kosovar male suspect (minor) was arrested in connection with the case, after he had physically attacked his brother. The suspect was taken into custody for 24 hours by decision of the prosecutor.
Mitrovica 02.01.2026 – 16:10. It is reported that the case involved a Kosovar male suspect and a Kosovar female victim, who are living together. The victim has received medical treatment, while the suspect was arrested and after being interviewed by the prosecutor's decision, he was released in a regular procedure.
