According to the Albanian Embassy in London, the bust was attacked on February 4, by still unidentified persons, who scribbled on its plaque.

"On February 4, 2014, in flagrant violation of the laws of the British state for the preservation of cultural monuments and artistic values exposed to the public, as well as the decision of the authorized authorities, someone has dared to place a digitature on the original plaque. This has caused a very serious concern to the Albanian Embassy in London, the initiator of the placement of the bust, but also to the bodies of the Metropolitan Police of London, especially that of the Bayswater area, and without a doubt to the majority of Albanians who live in Great Britain". writes the statement of our embassy in London.

Meanwhile, so far no one has been arrested for raping the bust, but the embassy adds that it is monitored by a camera system 24 hours a day. The embassy announces that the police have started investigations to clarify this event, while condemning this act, describing it as vandalism.

Acts like this damage the image of the Albanian community in Great Britain and make the Westminster Council review the decision to place this monument of the culture and history of our nation, a decision taken after a long consultation process with the residents of the area where the bust is found ", the statement continues.

The bust of Skanderbeg was placed in London two years ago on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Albania./Sekulli/
