Municipal leaders are not fulfilling their legal obligation to declare their assets to the Anti-Corruption Commission. This was emphasized by the first anti-corruption official, Adem Çuçul.

He stated that reports of misdemeanors have already been filed and announced increased control over all officials.

"When I became mayor, we immediately conducted an inspection, discovered that 35 former mayors and 19 new ones had not filed declarations. We issued payment orders for violations for all of them.

"In addition, they are now in the inspection phase, I think that in the coming days we will come up with the number of municipal councilors who have not fulfilled their legal obligation. We also checked the judges and prosecutors," Adem Çuçul, chairman of the Public Prosecutor's Office, told "TV21".

Çuçul announced that the institution is preparing a selection of ten most dangerous cases for further analysis based on an assessment of corruption risks. He said that data on the income and wealth status of officials and their family members are under review.

He called on citizens to report corruption and said that the Anti-Corruption Commission remains open to direct reports from them. /Telegrafi/
