Damka calls the indictment baseless: Innocence will be proven

The Minister of Regional Development, Fikrim Damka, has called the indictment filed today by the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren against him and another person, his relative, for assault and intimidation unfounded.

He has said that his innocence will be proven in court.

"The indictment is baseless and I believe that it will be clarified in court during the hearings, and innocence will be proven," Damka told RTKlive.

During the day, the Prosecution in Prizren announced the filing of an indictment against Minister Damka and another person with the initials FD, born in 1992, due to the well-founded suspicion that each of them separately committed the criminal offenses of "Assault" and "Threat", on February 9, the day that the general parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo.

The prosecutor in the case, upon filing the indictment, proposed to the court that after holding the judicial hearing, administering the evidence and evaluating it, the aforementioned defendants be found guilty of the criminal offenses for which they are accused and sentenced according to the law.

They were arrested on the evening of Sunday, February 9, while on February 11, Damka and his family were placed under house arrest, after the Basic Court in Prizren rejected the prosecution's request to order pre-trial detention for the two defendants.

Damka's house arrest was terminated on March 7.
