Meloni: The decision of the court for immigrants in Albania, unreasonable

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has publicly reacted to the decision of the Court of Rome on safe countries that blocked the implementation of the agreement with Albania and ordered the second return of immigrants from the Gjadri camp.

"I consider unreasonable some decisions of a part of the judiciary, which in fact by trying to pass the principle that there are no safe countries of origin for immigrants, risks excluding any possibility to control the borders. Moreover, making repatriation impossible even for those who commit crimes in Italy, like the 21-year-old Egyptian who stabbed the train conductor in Genoa in recent days. According to these interpretations, he could not be repatriated because Egypt is not considered a safe country," said Meloni.

During an electoral meeting in Umbria, Italy, Meloni said she is determined to advance the fight against immigration.

"I don't care about any conflict with justice, on the contrary, I don't want any conflict with anyone. I keep my commitments because the Italians voted for me and I say that I intend to move forward with immigration and do everything possible to stop irregular immigration, whether the left likes it or not," said Meloni.

As he attacked the left opposition for complaining about the agreement with Albania in Brussels, describing it as an anti-Italian party.

"We have the Democratic Party, which a few weeks ago asked the EU Commission to open a violation procedure against Italy for the protocol with Albania. Do you know what happens if an infringement procedure is opened? You have to pay, you have to pay, it's money," she said.

The Court of Rome a few days ago ordered the return of 7 immigrants from Bangladesh and Egypt who had taken refuge in Gjadër, Albania. Also, this court turned to the European Court of Justice to determine which are the safe countries./Tv Klan
