An Arizona priest resigned this month after Phoenix priests determined that it was the result of a wrong word he used during a baptism he performed during his career.
In the letter published on their website, the priests of Phoenix have announced that priest Andres Arango incorrectly used a word during a baptism that he performed at the beginning of June last year, Telegraph reports.
"I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit", changing "I" to "we".
Although at first it seemed like a trivial error, the word completely changed the meaning of baptism.
"The problem with using 'We' is that it's not the community that baptizes the person, it's Christ - that's Him," said Thomas J. Olmsted, a priest in Phoenix. /Telegraph/
