Barcelona are selling Flick's fan favorite in order to sign Olmo

Barcelona are reportedly willing to let defender Eric Garcia leave if they are able to sign Dani Olmon and Pau Victor. The Blaugrana are struggling to stay in line with Financial Fair Play rules as they struggle to complete the registration of two players.

After signing Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig for €60 million in the summer, questions were raised about the club's financial ability to sign him. However, a temporary solution was agreed which saw Olmo sign up and play for the Blaugrana. However, that settlement has now expired, requiring the club to re-sign Olmo and Victor.

There has been a lot of uncertainty about what might happen if Barcelona fails to complete these registrations in time. It is believed that Olmo and Victor could both end up as free agents, despite remaining under contract with Barça.

Barca are now ready to sanction the sale of Eric Garcia if they are allowed to sign their own players, according to journalist Nil Sola (via Football Espana). The 23-year-old's former club Girona are believed to be interested in his return and they will pay a transfer fee of around €10 million for him.

However, the condition for the sale of Garcia to Girona is that the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are resolved. Barca coach Hansi Flick was asked if a possible sale for Garcia was on the cards, but the German coach replied in the negative.

"No, I don't think so. For us, he is a good player. He had the problem of having an injury at the end of last season. He is an intelligent player, he can play in different positions and we are not thinking about that," Flick stated.

This season, the defender has struggled to find a place in the starting position. Despite racking up 13 appearances so far, he has only started one Champions League game and four La Liga games. /Telegraph/
