The Food and Veterinary Agency has notified the public of the withdrawal from the market of Aptamil Pronutra 1, Pronutra 2 and Bebelac 1 infant formulas, following the presence of the toxic substance cereulide in the products imported from Poland.

In a press release, the AUVA emphasizes that the risk is considered serious.


"Since the level of risk has been assessed as serious, the FVA, in cooperation with the importing company, has taken immediate measures to withdraw from the market the product Aptamil, infant formula, produced by Nutricia Zakłady Produkcyjne Sp. z oo, Poland, and imported into Kosovo by UNION SH.PK, Vushtrri," the announcement states.

The affected products were on the market before the decision dated 11.02.2026 to temporarily ban the import of Aptamil into the country.

"Please do not use Aptamil Pronutra 1, Aptamil Pronutra 2 and Bebelac 1 products with the specified expiration dates, but return them to the point of sale," the Consumer Agency urges,

The FVA also announces that it will continue to monitor the market and implement preventive and control measures, with the aim of ensuring safe food and protecting the health of consumers in the Republic of Kosovo. /Telegraph/
