Attacked father with an axe, 30 days detention for suspect from Decani

The Basic Court in Peja, Department for Serious Crimes, has ordered a 30-day detention order against the defendant KM, suspected of the criminal offense of "Attempted Aggravated Murder".
The decision was taken by the pre-trial judge, Musë Povataj, following the request submitted by the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja – Department for Serious Crimes. According to the court, there is a well-founded suspicion that the defendant has committed the criminal offense provided for in Article 173 paragraph 1 subparagraph 1.3, in conjunction with Article 28 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
The detention measure has been determined based on the legal conditions provided for in the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kosovo and will be implemented from February 6, 2026, at 04:00, until March 6, 2026.
According to the court's decision, the detention will initially be held at the Psychiatric Department in Peja, for as long as the defendant's medical treatment is deemed necessary, while after the treatment is completed, he will be sent to the Detention Center.
Otherwise, yesterday a person was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after a serious incident that occurred in the village of Isniq, Deçan, where a person is suspected of being seriously injured with an axe by a family member.
The case was initially confirmed by the Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Peja region, Fadil Gashi, who announced that the Police were notified by the Family Medicine Center at around 15:35 p.m.
"Around 15:35, the Police Station was notified by the QMF that a person injured with a sharp tool, an axe, is being treated, who is suspected of being injured by a family member. The incident occurred in the village of Isniq in Deçan. The injured person was taken to the emergency room in Peja due to the injuries he suffered. The state prosecutor was notified of the case and authorized the regional investigation sector to be involved due to the gravity of the crime," Gashi stated. /Telegrafi/
