Agreement reached: Fabrizio Romano gives details of Huijsen's transfer to Real Madrid
Dean Huijsen is currently in London undergoing a medical as he approaches a transfer from Bournemouth to Real Madrid.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the 20-year-old defender is completing the main part of his medical tests, and the signing of the contract is expected soon.
He confirmed the transfer with his trademark "Here we go," indicating that the deal is complete.
Real Madrid have agreed to pay Huijsen's €60m release clause, with the fee structured in three instalments.
The Spanish giants aim to finalise the deal immediately to include Huijsen in their squad for the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
Despite interest from Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United, Huijsen prioritised a move to Real Madrid.
The young defender is expected to sign a five-year contract until 2030, with an initial gross salary of €9 million, potentially rising to €11 million depending on performance.
The addition of Huijsen is seen as a strategic move by Real Madrid to strengthen their defense, especially with key players recovering from injuries.
New coach Xabi Alonso is said to have approved the signing, seeing Huijsen as a central figure in the club's future plans.
The transfer is expected to be officially announced once all formalities are completed, making Huijsen one of the most expensive defensive transfers in Real Madrid's history. /Telegraph/
