Arbër Peci: Nutrition during pregnancy directly affects the health and development of the child

Renowned fitness trainer, Arbër Peci, during the podcast "Health First", supported by United Hospital, spoke with particular emphasis on the importance of nutrition during pregnancy and the impact it has on the child's mental and physical health.
According to Peci, during pregnancy, a woman's body produces high levels of estrogen, a hormone essential for the development of a new organism within the mother's body.
However, he warns that hormone destabilization, combined with poor eating habits, can have serious consequences for both mother and child.
"During pregnancy, the body produces a lot of estrogen. The body needs estrogen to develop another organism within the current organism. The destabilization of hormones affects the emotional state, especially when we associate this whole condition with foods where most mothers make this mistake and gain a lot of weight during pregnancy, they lose control," he said.
Peci emphasized the importance of awareness and prudence during this period, underlining that increased appetite should not be an excuse for excessive consumption of unhealthy foods.
He adds that balanced and healthy nutrition is a cornerstone for the mental and physical health of the unborn child.
"If you are very hungry, eat, but eat healthy foods, because that is where everything starts for the child. It happens that the child is disturbed in the mother's womb and when it comes into the world it is disturbed, even psychologically," emphasized Peci.
He also raised concerns about diseases such as autism, which, according to him, in some cases may be related to a lack of care during pregnancy, both in terms of hormones and nutrition.
