EU approves Nokia-Microsoft deal

The deal between the world's major companies, Nokia and Microsoft received the support of Nokia shareholders last week, and now Microsoft has acquired the headquarters of the Nokia company in Espoo, Finland.

Once the deal is approved we will see Microsoft as the new owner of Nokia Mobile Services, which will give Microsoft ownership of the Nokia Lumia brand and Nokia's smartphone technology.

The price that Microsoft had bought the former world mobile leader, the Nokia company, had reached 7.2 billion dollars.
The deal also includes a license contract between the two companies for the next 10 years, and it now appears that the acquisition is ready to be approved by European regulators.

According to a recent report from Reuters, Microsoft is expected to receive unconditional approval from the EU, and EU competition watchdogs will rule on the deal on December 4.

The deal is expected to be finalized between Nokia and Microsoft in early 2014, and it will be interesting to see what happens to Nokia's mobile devices, namely its Lumia line, when they are under Microsoft's control.
