Analysts comment on Hoti's statement against Abdixhiku

Political analysts have commented on the statement of former Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, who called for new leadership for the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

According to Imer Mushkolaj, Hoti's reaction shows the problems within the party, which, according to him, began at the time of drafting the electoral lists.

"I think the dissatisfaction arose much earlier, at least at the time when the electoral lists were made, when they were drafted, Hoti was ranked 13th, while others who may have been less deserving than him with contributions to the LDK were ranked earlier. I think the main problem was the ranking of Mrs. Kica - Xhelili on the electoral list, and the dissatisfaction of Mr. Hoti and others was for this reason," he stated.

He also emphasized that the dissatisfaction was not only about the lists, but also about the way the election campaign was conducted.

"Ms. Kica - Xhelili was given number three on the LDK list, while the others were placed behind her. There were also voices of dissatisfaction within the LDK with the election campaign, with claims that Abdixhiku personalized the campaign, which I think were more or less right. We have seen a personalized campaign from the campaign slogan onwards," Mushkolaj further stated.

Meanwhile, analyst Ylli Hoxha said that Avdullah Hoti has no moral right to criticize LDK leader Lumir Abdixiku for the election results where LDK came in third place but with an increase of six percent.

"It doesn't make sense for someone who has suffered the greatest loss to be the one to give the greatest criticism."

"Hoti should be the last to criticize Abdixhiku for his results, because the results are extremely good considering the real situation that the new LDK leadership has inherited," Hoxha said on Debat Plus.

He further said that LDK is an extremely important factor behind the election result because it is 'a kind of guide for the creation of the government'.

Hoxha further said that it was no coincidence that LDK was the target of the biggest attacks during the campaign.

"Perhaps the only subject of attack even after the campaign," he said.

Meanwhile, according to Visar Ymer, the current leadership has brought a new dynamic and better organization.

"This growth that the LDK has now, considering that it has been at the bottom, for me is a very successful growth. The LDK leadership has been electorally successful."

However, he stressed that internal dissatisfaction within the LDK has often surfaced in public, adding that these issues should have been discussed within the party first.

"LDK has been notable for communicating and discussing internal grievances through the eyes of the public. Whether this is good or bad, I cannot judge, but it has both positive and negative sides. Remarks about an electoral process or internal developments should first be addressed to the party bodies," he emphasized.

Ymeri also praised Avdullah Hoti's role in the party, saying that he had an important contribution to the LDK, especially during his time as prime minister.

"Where I agree with Hoti is that I think he has made an extremely positive contribution to the LDK, especially to the LDK in this legislature, which I think has had a well-deserved place. He became prime minister at a time when there was no time, I think he did this for the good of the party, or Kosovo at that time. He has taken a burden on himself, and now being judged for it is not fair," Ymeri declared.

Meanwhile, according to Sadri Ramabaja, the losers of elections in liberal democracies reflect and withdraw from the leaders of political parties, but according to him, this has not happened in Kosovo.

"Unfortunately, this has not happened yet in Kosovo and has not been promoted as a natural, normal democratic process."

He said that if you are a party in power and lose votes in other elections, the leaders should be held accountable.

"And they should understand the resignation," he said, alluding to the Democratic League of Kosovo.

He said that in fragile democracies like Kosovo, perhaps the Swiss political system would suit them well.

Leaders "would learn, mature and share power in accordance with the percentage they gained in power because based on the percentage, each one would know what positions they have and who leads the government, which assembly, which foreign minister, especially the defense minister," he said on RTVDukagjini.
