Ana Maria Markovic, a member of the Croatian national team, has been labeled as the most beautiful soccer player in the world.
But in a statement for 20min, the 22-year-old has said that she likes being considered beautiful, but does not want to be labeled the "sexiest" woman in football, as she receives messages with inappropriate content from men.
The beauty is building her football career at the Swiss club, Grasshoppers, where she has been playing since 2020, while she is regular with attractive posts on Instagram, where she is currently followed by more than 624 thousand fans.

"I liked the articles that called me the most beautiful soccer player or one of the most beautiful, because I'm happy when I hear that I'm beautiful."
"But then newspaper headlines appeared, in which I was described as the sexiest footballer. I did not like this. Also, because of my family. I think you should be careful what you write about people".

"After that, a lot of people wrote to me pretending to be managers, when I knew exactly what they wanted from me. They have never seen me play football and only watch me from the outside. I think it's a pity", said the beauty.
Ana Maria was born in Split, but at the age of 12 she moved with her family to Switzerland and grew up in Zurich.

At the age of 14, Markovic started playing football as part of the women's team of FC Zurich and then Grasshopper.
As part of the last club, he attracted the interest of the Croatian Football Federation and from 2021 he wears the jersey of the Croatian national team.
