An archaeological object has been discovered behind the building of the Prefecture of Durrës. The object was discovered while an entity was excavating to carry out an infrastructure project. What stands out at the moment is a block of stone as well as a fragment of a red brick wall.
The work has been stopped and the Ministry of Culture has been notified. Some specialists in the field have identified the place, photographed and filmed it. They have not been able to determine what this discovered fragment represents and to what period it belongs. But, from the layering, it looks like a construction from the Byzantine period.
The discovery was made in the center of Durrës, which has historically been the center of this city since it was founded. /Albania/
