After the attack that occurred in Prilep, the Social Work Centers with security guards
37 Social Work Centers will receive security personnel from a licensed company within a month. The Public Procurement Procedure, which was recently announced by the Ministry of Social Policy, expires this week and requires a total of 60 security guards, announced the Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, Gjoko Velkovski.
"60 licenses are required, meaning 60 people to be continuously engaged by the company that will provide our facilities... In five days we will have the company in the evaluation phase, and then we expect the signing of the contract, so within a month from today, we will have a final agreement with the company that will be selected," said Gjoko Velkovski, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth.
This need comes after a month and a half ago, at the Social Work Center in Prilep, an employee was shot with a gun by a service user, from whom she had previously received threats. The Center's Director, Zoran Mallkovski, said that they will feel safer when there is someone at the reception who selects clients who will enter the facility.
"I am convinced that we will feel a little safer when we know that at the Reception we will have someone who will be able to select clients and will have the authority that we currently do not have, to see who brings what and how. And I think that going up to the offices will be allowed only by invitation... Some of the colleagues have also used long medical leaves, with a recommendation from a psychiatrist, psychologist or family doctor. Slowly, slowly we are consolidating, we are now together", affirmed Zoran Mallkovski, director of the Prilep Social Center.
Otherwise, the armed attack on the Center for Social Work in Prilep occurred on March 23. In the incident, 36-year-old social worker M. Gj. was slightly injured, who was shot by 50-year-old AJ, who, in all likelihood, was dissatisfied with the previous measures taken by the Center regarding his divorce process. /Tv21
