Zelensky challenges Putin: Come to Kiev if you dare

Amid skepticism over whether Vladimir Putin has agreed to stop targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure for a week, Volodymyr Zelensky has reacted to reports that he has been invited to Moscow by the Russian president.

He says he is ready for "any format" of the leaders' summit, but not one taking place in Moscow, calling such a move "impossible."

Zelensky said he would not meet with Putin even in Belarus, a country with strong ties to the Kremlin.

"It is absolutely impossible for me to meet with Putin in Moscow. That would be the same as meeting with Putin in Kiev," he said.

"I can invite him to Kiev - let him come. I'm inviting him publicly, if he dares, of course," Zelensky added.

Otherwise, the Ukrainian president appears to have been at a "war" with European leaders in the last two weeks.

In a question-and-answer session with reporters, Volodymyr Zelensky went even further in his harsh criticism, suggesting that Europe is to blame for the gaps in air defense that Russia exploited to cut off Ukraine's energy supplies. /Telegraph/
