American actor Danny DeVito: My grandmother was from Calabria, she spoke Gaelic

The well-known American comedian and actor, Danny DeVito, recently gave an interview through which he told about the Albanian origins of his ancestors.
The Hollywood star discovered that his grandmother was Calabrian and spoke the Gege dialect.
This part was shared on Twitter by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi.

"My grandmother was from Calabria, at the bottom of the boot (refers to the shape of the map of Italy) and there is Albania. She spoke... a language, a dialect called Gege", said the actor.

He further clarified that this dialect is spoken in the north of Albania.
"Some people may know what it is. It's a hybrid language," says Danny DeVito.

The Gege dialect is one of the two dialects of the Albanian language spoken by Albanians in northern Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro.
