A Brazilian court has ordered an Adele song to be pulled from all streaming platforms over allegations of plagiarism.

Namely, Brazilian musician Toninho Geraes claims that the music of her 2015 hit "Million Years Ago" was taken from his song "Mulheres".

The order was issued by Judge Victor Torres of the Sixth Commercial Court in Rio de Janeiro, pending further action in the ongoing plagiarism case. The ban was directed at the Brazilian subsidiaries of Sony and Universal, with a fine of $8,000 for "an act of disobedience".

However, the publication of claims can still appeal the decision. The so-called preliminary injunction orders Sony and Universal to "immediately and globally stop the use, reproduction, modification, distribution or commercialization of the song "Million Years Ago" in any mode, medium, physical or digital support, broadcast platform.

The lawyer of Brazilian musician Toninho Geraes stated that Brazilian compositions are often copied to create international hits. Lawyer Fredimio Trotta said his company will work this week to notify radio and television subscribers and streaming services worldwide of the Brazilian decision.

His client Geraes claims that Adele's 2015 song plagiarized his classic "Mulheres", recorded by Brazilian singer Martinho da Vila on a 1995 hit album.

Turkish fans have also accused Adela of plagiarizing the same song "Million Years Ago". They claimed that its melody is similar to that of Kurdish singer Ahmet Kay's 1985 song called "Acilara Tutunmak". /Telegraph/
