Tirana today welcomes the sixth Summit of the European Political Community, an event taking place for the first time in a Western Balkan country.
Lumir Abdixhiku, chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, wrote on Facebook that today Europe is landing in Tirana, with all 47 of its leaders, Telegrafi reports.
"Europe is landing in Tirana today. All of it. With a full 47 of its leaders. In Tirana, which has now become a new regional epicenter, the home from which the continent's own future is being carved. In this future, without a doubt, it is becoming the home of the Albanians," Abdixhiku wrote.
The LDK leader further adds that Kosovo continues to remain under measures and sanctions.
"It continues to remain without institutions. Above all, it continues to remain without a sense of urgency for the time. There is no urgency, he told me! Others, such as development, well-being, such as social progress, are elusive for those who have grasped the future of the country for some time now. Because for them, enjoying the life of power is the goal itself. Others are waiting. Because we have fallen. We continue to fall. Others are continuing to walk. Others are building. Others are becoming part of the beautiful European future that now appears to them only a few years away," he emphasized.
Furthermore, he claimed that "National revival sometimes takes time."
"But today, this awakening of Kosovo requires urgency. This urgency does not come from those who do not recognize the need. It comes from the people of Kosovo who are awakening! To Albania, only congratulations." /Telegrafi/
