A video of a schizophrenia simulation has revealed what life can be like for those suffering from the disease.

It is a serious mental illness that can affect the way a person thinks, feels and behaves.


People with schizophrenia may feel like they've lost touch with reality, which can be distressing for them, their family and friends, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

Symptoms may include hallucinations, delusions, and thought and movement disorders.

According to Rethink Mental Illness, schizophrenia affects approximately one in 100 people.

The simulation posted on the Scissus Animus YouTube channel first shows a man walking towards a grocery store. Voices are heard, which indicates that the person is hallucinating. The result is paranoia.

The video collected 990 thousand views and many commented that it is quite realistic. /Telegraph/
