Small child emerges from prison cell in Assad's 'human slaughterhouse' as rebels free prisoners

This is the shocking moment a Syrian baby is seen emerging from a prison cell inside the 'human slaughterhouse' of tyrannical President Bashar al-Assad.

The little boy stands by the open cell doors and looks confused as rebel soldiers shout "Allahu Akbar" - meaning "God is greatest" - as they free hundreds of prisoners, the Telegraph reports.

The military prison near Damascus, dubbed an 'industrial torture chamber', reportedly held between 5,000 and 13,000 prisoners who had been hanged since 2011.

Militants frantically opened the padlocks on the doors of the prison cells in Saydnaya prison, to free hundreds of female prisoners and their children after the overthrow of the brutal al-Assad regime.

In a video posted on X, the women screamed with joy as they were released, some of whom had been imprisoned for decades. They were put on buses waiting outside the prison before being taken to their homes.

"We celebrate with the Syrian people the news of the release of our prisoners, and the removal of their chains and the declaration of the end of the era of injustice in Saydnaya prison," the rebels said.

Amnesty International's investigation said Syrian authorities had committed crimes against humanity with thousands of prisoners at the prison 30 kilometers north of Damascus being killed, tortured and exterminated.

They determined that violations committed at the brutal facilities over the past decade under the regime of dictator Bashar al Assad, which has seen the disappearance of more than 10,000 political prisoners, were part of an attack on civilians. /Telegraph/
