A man who leaves a mark on nature and in the hearts of people, Sabri Bunjaku - the humanist who turned pain into work

In the enchanting heights, where the clean air mixes with the scent of pine trees and the sound of the river turns into a soothing melody for the soul, lies a rare story of dedication and humanity. It bears the name of Sabri Bunjaku, a man from Gjilan who has turned his love for nature, country and family into concrete, tangible and lasting works.
There are people who live quietly, without noise, but leave behind an echo that does not fade. Sabri Bunjaku is one of those men who do not seek the spotlight, because they keep the light within themselves. He does not measure humanity with words, but with deeds that rise like bridges over rivers, like seats on mountain slopes, like a path that connects memory with eternity.
At a time when many speak of love for the country, Sabriu proves it with hands cracked from work and a heart that beats for nature, for people and for the name of his grandson, whom he has carved not in cold stone, but in the eternal greenery of the mountains. This is a humanism that is not proclaimed, but is built, preserved and lived.

With his own initiative and entirely personal funding, Sabri Bunjaku has built over 80 wooden benches, carefully crafted and placed at strategic points along the mountain trail, creating resting spaces for visitors, climbers and family members seeking peace in the heart of nature. Each bench is more than a place to stop, it is an invitation to reflect, to take a deep breath and to contemplate the beauty of the mountains.
But his work does not stop there. He has also built a bridge over the Lumbardhë River, connecting two mountain trails and making the trek easier and safer for visitors. This bridge has now become a symbolic point of the area, where passersby stop to experience the tranquility and capture a piece of this natural paradise in photographs.
""Youth Path" – a memorial that lives in greenery
Sabri Bunjaku's contribution also carries a deep emotional dimension. The path known today as the "Youth Path" bears the name of his grandson, turning the memory into eternity through nature. Instead of the pain remaining only within the walls of the house, it was transformed into a project that serves hundreds of visitors.

Every morning, from the early hours, Sabriu can be seen taking care of the cleanliness, organization and maintenance of this natural park. With silent dedication, he arranges, cleans, places directional signs and ensures that every path is passable and safe. He speaks little, but acts a lot.
Love for nature as a civic act
Prevalla, one of the most visited mountainous areas in Kosovo, often faces a lack of institutional investment and damage from human negligence. In this reality, Sabri Bunjaku's action takes on extraordinary weight. He proves that civic responsibility does not await orders, but arises from conscience.
Thanks to his work, the area has become an attractive spot for hikers, athletes, and families seeking peace and healing in nature. The wooden benches, the bridge over the river, and the well-maintained path are today living proof of a dedication that does not require applause, but leaves a permanent mark.

An example that speaks louder than words
Sabri Bunjaku represents the type of man who loves his country through deeds. He is a humanist at heart, a lover of nature, and a permanent reminder of the name of his grandson, Rinor, through a project that combines remembrance with public service.
At a time when complaining often replaces action, his figure restores the belief that change begins with the individual. He is proof that love for one's homeland and nature is not measured in words, but in daily work, with sweat and with heart.
A great man, indeed, leaves great traces, not only on the earth, but also in the conscience of a community./rajonipress/
